Hearing
- 23.01.2023: Unilateral right side moderate high frequency sensori-neural hearing loss meaning Aske doesn’t pick up higher pitch sounds above 2000Hz on his right ear (also known as the sh-, f-, s- and th-sounds in English and k-, f-, p-, t-, s- and th-sounds in Danish). Hearing aid(s) will not benefit him at this point in time. Sound Field System was installed during Year 5 at his Primary School, this is a fixed setup that cannot follow him into secondary school, therefore his position in the classroom is of great importance to his ability to follow the lesson (left ear towards the teacher please!)
- 08.11.2023: Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct (EVA) on right inner ear meaning Aske isn’t allowed to participate in any contact sports like rugby and football (as even small blows to the head can result in a decrease in his hearing), he needs to wear a helmet when riding a bike or skiing.
ASD – Autism Spectrum Disorder
- 09.05.2023: ASD diagnosed – Aske struggles with interoception (especially hunger and needing the bathroom) and fitting of clothes (often feels too tight)
ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
- 26.06.2023: On the NHS waiting list for an ADHD assessment
Hayfever
- 12.06.2023: Hayfever (most likely grass)
Allergies/sensitivity
- Allergy towards Thousand Island dressing (Aske gets a small red rash on his cheeks shortly after eating it) – we found out around 2014-2015
Other
- 14.12.2023: Pectus Excavatum noted by paediatrician
